The Kuroshitsuji OVA is ridiculous! I laughed so hard. Also: watching anything at 1am seems to add the the laugh factor. Something about sleep deprivation (try it kids! it's cheaper than drugs!)
The entire series has been so perfect. I almost thought I could get back into regular anime... but no, really, just Kuroshitsuji. It's a diamond in the rough for me. :3
If you like heavily implied "boys love", demons, faustian-contracts, Late 1800's era London, death-gods, sweets, and silliness: You should check it out.

| Finished a sketch! |
[07 Nov 2009|11:35pm] |
It's like some drunk girl who made her own Sailor outfit! I got the reference photo from The Village Voice's website.

And the photo:

I stopped looking at it at some point which is why the legs and hands look so fucked up!
I hope to finish my heart shaped smoking tentacle girl sometime this weekend. Not really feeling it on many pieces. I kinda just want to work on highly render pieces in my sketchbook. I was trying to clean up some art to get printed at Ript apparel... But I like airbrushing too much right now. Going back to heavy inked shading and cross hatching just feels wrong. :3

| It's free mother fuckers! |
[04 Nov 2009|01:45pm] |
So, my brother asked me if I could design a t-shirt for my niece's Daisy Scouts. Sure thing, I'll do it for free, and the troupe can just go to cafe press or something and pay for a shirt.
I drew this scribble as a basic concept, and the whole Carlton family fell in love.

Sweet! I'll just fix it up in photoshop and send the working file along.
Well the parents of Daisy scouts are a terrible lot. They literally just wanted a daisy on a shirt. Well assholes, just get a fucking fabric marker and some shirts at Michaels and draw it yourselves! I did this design for free, because I wanted to make my niece happy. Not so idiot parents can critique the art.
It's apparently "too sophisticated." Wow, I'm sorry you like to dumb things down for your kids, and that you are afraid of dressing them in something that looks nicer than the crap you usually get at Wal-Mart.
ALSO: I DESIGNED THIS FOR FREE, SAY THANKS, THEN SHUT UP AND BUY YOUR OWN FABRIC PAINTS.
Final art that my parents will probably print (because we Carltons hate group-think)

| Autumn = Perpetually ill! |
[25 Oct 2009|01:16am] |
I'm feeling slightly better, so I finally got around to working on this piece I started inking a while ago. Brought it into photoshop, building it up as another print to sell via deviantart

Very rough so far.
I'm hoping the humidifier and better groceries will help me not get any sicker. (No really, this entire month I've been eating the worst! Junk food, fast food, it's been terrible...)

Things I did in my 33 weeks away from LJ:

1. Went to Japan
2. Participated in the 2009 Sea no evil art show.
3. Bought an iPhone. I'm a consumer whore!
4. Dated a dude for 8-9 months, then dumped said dude. (felt like a karmic lesson...)
5. Have become something resembling friends with my coolest ex. (No hard feelings yo! Good nerds are hard to come by)
6. Made friends with a cool dude in Denmark, all because we both love 犬神サーカス団。
7. Starting selling giclee prints of mah arts.
8. Lost nearly 30 lbs and 5 inches off my waist (still got plenty to lose... am a biggin.)
9.) Working at Famous Stars and Straps, it's cool, I love my boss/buddy.
10.) Am watching anime and J-Drama at a steady pace. Got into Natsume Yuujinchou, Kuroshitsuji, and Mr. Brain.
11.) Joined Netflix! Why didn't anyone tell me "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is so fucking great!!?!
So, I'm back on LJ because, the html input on blogspot is ancient and retarded, and the friend page view in a tiny window? No thanks, that's ghetto.
ひさしぶり、ね!
